Needs for Camp Wyoba

Dear Friends and Family of Camp Wyoba,

I want to cordially invite you to attend our camp opening, if you are not already coming or aware of it. It is June 1-2, Friday and Saturday. We will be opening and cleaning cabins, as well as trying to get some projects under way.

I also wanted to let you of some needs that the camp currently has. There are some items that we are looking for and some projects that really need attention. If you and/or your church could help out and pass on the word in your bulletin or to others, it would be deeply appreciated. Please let me know if you or your church would be interested in donating any of these items or money toward them. These projects are just a few amongst many that could easily be done by families, youth groups, or individuals willing to donate some time to the camp. Projects are available at any time over the course of the summer and any time donated is a blessing.

Items Needed:
-Lightly used couches (for staff cabins)
-Lightly used lounge chairs (for staff cabins)
-New Vacuum (for carpets)
-Heavy duty door mats (for outside cabin doors)
-24" wide leaf rake
-Heavy duty wheelbarrow (single tire)
-New kitchen knife set

Projects:
-Re-build/fix property fences
-Cut firewood
-Gravel driveways
-Digging out ditches
-Collecting rocks for landscape
-Rebuilding outdoor fire ring benches (the one in the woods)

If you have any questions or are able to help out in any of these areas, please feel free to contact me and spread the word. I look forward to a wonderful camp season and serving at Camp Wyoba this summer!

Blessings to you,
~Amber Shearer

Start of the Camp Season

Howdy All!

This is Amber Shearer the new Camp Wyoba Administrator reporting live from Casper Mountain. I am currently at camp and we are opening up for the season. Zach and Hannah Fuhriman are here helping me learn the ropes and getting things ready. So far we have got most of the water on. The septic tank was sucked out this morning and is in working order. We are now patching a few broken pipes and in theory should be done and good to go shortly.

Last night we got about 6 inches of snow or better! We do need the moisture up here already but it definitely came as a surprise. It is melting this afternoon and hopefully we can continue to get projects done.

Tomorrow my parents, Dave and Linda Shearer are coming all the way from Pennsylvania to get some projects under way. We will be tiling Bailey and Fox cabins, putting up paneling and a new toilet in Bailey, fixing picnic tables, doing some painting and other odds and ends.

Opening weekend is June 1-2! Please spread the word and bring a friend! We have lots of projects to do that need to get done before camp opens! Hope to see you there!

Please feel free to call me with any questions at 307-234-6240.

Tune in next time for more Wyoba updates...
